About Actuate

Transitioning into a Non-Executive Director role is an exciting step for senior professionals who want to use their experience to influence strategy, strengthen governance and support organisations at board level. But for many aspiring NEDs, the pathway can feel unclear.

You may have strong leadership experience, sector expertise and a successful executive career behind you, yet still face common blockers: understanding boardroom responsibilities, demonstrating governance credibility, positioning your profile effectively, building confidence in strategic challenge, and standing out in a competitive market.

That’s where we help bridge that gap through structured Non-Executive Director learning pathways designed to build boardroom confidence, sharpen your understanding of governance, finance, risk, digital and AI oversight, and provide recognised credentials.

Really interesting session this week. The facilitators clearly knows her stuff and was able to facilitate a 4 hour session with confidence, diplomacy while calling a range of voices into the discussion. I came away with lots of reflections to take into my board roles.
Doing the NED cert, really impressed with Actuate so far. The first 4 modules were interesting and led by highly experienced experts in their field. The onboarding and 1:1 support has been great, the team did a very good job of drafting my NED CV, they are clearly very experienced.
Appears to lead the market in training and certifications in board related areas that previously lacked this approach.
The content was practical, engaging and highly relevant, with real-life examples that made complex financial concepts easy to understand. The sessions are delivered professionally and encouraged great discussion throughout. I would highly recommend it to anyone preparing for a Non-Executive Director role.
